With summer over, the holiday seasons are finally upon us, bringing with them plenty of festivities and community events to celebrate. Lots of people dread autumn because winter’s right behind it, but it doesn’t have to be a gloomy season if you don’t want it to be.
With this in mind, why not make the most of your fall by joining Westbury Toyota in taking part in some of the most popular seasonal activities that Long Island has to offer? Thanks to an abundance of live entertainment, conventions, and festivals, there are plenty of things to do for families, friends, or couples. If you often find yourself at a loss when it comes to buying your loved ones gifts for birthdays, Christmas, or other occasions, it’s time to hit up the Fall Festival Craft Fair in New Hyde Park. Hosted by the Christ Lutheran Church, this fair showcases items like jewelry, beauty products, and home decor in addition to some really impressive handcrafted wares. This is also a great event to visit if you (or your friends) have an interest in collectibles or holistic/natural health products. The fair will be held on November 4th, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. For more information, go ahead and visit the Christ Lutheran Church’s website.
Do you and your friends or family really love chocolate? If the answer is yes, then the I Love Chocolate Fest in Old Bethpage on November 4th is just the event for you. Admission prices are more than reasonable, and along with this entry fee you get access to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration; a museum that lets you explore a recreated 1800s village, complete with costumed staff. There will be over 100 different chocolate exhibits at this festival and exhibitors will have up to 1,000 samples to give away – and if you love the samples, you’ll be more than happy to know that you can also buy your favorite chocolate, too. In addition to being able to taste some delicious treats, you’ll also be able to listen to live bands and watch (or participate in) a chocolate donut speed eating contest!
For anyone who loves learning about Long Island’s history, paying a visit to the 24th Annual Holiday House Tour in Islip is a must this December 3rd. You’ll be able to tour multiple historic homes decorated in exquisite detail for the holidays and each house will have tour guides dressed in historically relevant costumes to show you the highlights of the houses and the decorations. In addition to the tours, you’ll also be able to participate in a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle, as well as enjoy live entertainment and taste some delicious refreshments. In order to book tickets (they go on sale on November 14th), make sure to visit the 24th Annual Holiday House Tour’s website.
Have you always wanted to meet Wonder Woman and Superman? Actors Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill will be attending ACE Comic Con Long Island, December 8th through the 10th, at the Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale. Additional actors attending are Jason Momoa ("Game of Thrones") and Ezra Miller ("Justice League"). This is the perfect event for anyone interested in gaming, movies, comics, and other aspects of pop culture.
